This afternoon we're at the student welcome. Pass by our booth and say hi!

Tomorrow evening our second info evening will take place at 22h at LUAK headquarters. You can easily register there. To get rid of some confusion: if you're already a member on this website (test it by logging in and check if your profile is up to date) you only need to pay to a board member and receive your card. If you do not have a website account yet, registering before you pass by to become a member will speed up the process.

The membership fees this year are 15 euros for new members and 20 euros for others.

Sunday is our first day on the rocks! Pass by tomorrow evening to get more info.

In a couple of weeks the new LUAK season will start. LUAK is already open every Thursday evening at the moment. At the end of September and the beginning of October we're organizing 2 info nights where you can register for the new year and meet the new board. After that, 2 initiations and the Freyr weekend will follow. Check the calendar for the exact dates and upcoming events.

Don't forget, this Friday the 27th at 19h is our awesome yearly BBQ (and general meeting)! We'll take care of the side dishes, veggies and grill. You bring your preferred meat, a plate and cutlery.

PS: since everybody will meet at the BBQ on Friday, the LUAK will be closed on Thursday.

Good news everyone,

From Saturday 19 until Sunday 27 July, LUAK is going on zomertreffen to Switzerland in the region of the Grimsel, Furka and Süsten pass. We are all staying at the pleasant campsite Grimselblick in the cozy village of Innertkirchen. Everybody is welcome to come along, regardless of climbing grades, age or experience. Nearby, you can do multipitch climbing, sportsclimbing, bouldering, alpinism, (hiking, swimming, cycling, bookreading and even nothing if you are lazy).

If you are planning on joining us (which you should), please send an email to the famous luak.bestuur@gmail.com . If you want to join, but can't find a ride over there, come to LUAK evenings or post your ride request on the Luak forum or facebook page.

Be sure to pass by the LUAK on Friday! Fishtail (the band fronted by our own Linus) will do a superb gig, followed by a great green party! Still a lot of booze left over from the x-mas party so prepare yourselves and your livers for some cheap spirited drinks!

The 11th of march the Luak will host a trip report by two awesome belgian climbers, Siebe Vanhee and Tim De Dobbeleer. Whom showed to have big cojones and doing some crazy stuff in the Alps. The presentation will be held by the two climbers at MSI 00.20: Erasmusplein 2, 3000 Leuven. Be there or be square!

Next up: the famous coldfinger weekend! Next Friday evening or Saturday morning we're leaving for Fontainebleau. We'll stay until Sunday night. Fingers crossed for some blue sky high friction, low gravity days!

If you want to join us, come to the LUAK on Thursday night to discuss logistics & car pool arrangements.

Saturday night we'll probably bivy on the Hippodrome field. Bring your own camping cooking supplies if you want to keep it cheap. Join the others for a restaurant (we're known to hijack the pizza place) if you're lazy ;).

This thursday LUAK will host a presentation by three different (teams of) climbers, as they come to show us what they have achieved the past year. It'll be a fun and cosy way to meet other climbers, talk about climbing, and listen to climbing stories!

Good news every one (as the professor of Futurama would say). Luak is going to the Montafon valley in Austria (Oostenrijk) from Wednesday evening 5 February until Sunday 9 February. LUAK and a certain former LUAK president Mr. De Winne (many thanks) have found a very nice house over there with several rooms, showers, large living/eating room and even children proof. The house is located in Tschaggun which is about 7,5hours driving from Leuven. There are still some left-overs from the Christmas party and next week on Thursday (16 January), LUAK will even provide ice cream and pancakes to support all the students and non students. Be there!
